…Sen. Imasuen hails NSC on NJF peaceful resolution
The Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF) has congratulated the National Sports Commission (NSC) on its one-year of remarkable achievements under the visionary leadership of its Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade.
Friday October 24 makes it a year that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took a bold step and scrapped the Federal Ministry of Sports and reorganized the National Sports Commission (NSC), making it the nation’s sports governing body.
The NJF in a statement by its Secretary General Atoe Jude commended the leadership of the National Sports Commission over its reforms, promotion of transparency and inclusiveness.
Atoe emphasized that efforts of the NSC have renewed hope and restored confidence across Nigeria’s sporting ecosystem.
Meanwhile, the Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Neda Imasuen has expressed appreciation to the Chairman and Director General of the National Sports Commission Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olakpade for their timely intervention and resolution of the crisis that was brewing in the National Judo Federation.
Senator Imasuen who also extended his gratitude to Senator Abdul Ningi, Chairman, Senate’s Committee on Sports for his role in the peaceful resolution of the crisis that followed the election of Jude Atoe as the General Secretary of the Judo Federation spoke shortly after flagging off the maiden Benin Unity Cup (football tournament) at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin on Friday.
”The situation in the National Judo Federation after their election was a disturbing one, but thank God, we were able to resolve the crisis that was brewing. Jude Atoe who ran and won election as the General Secretary of the National Judo Federation later complained that some persons wanted to remove him at all cost, so I stepped in through many means being someone from my constituency.
”My appreciation goes to Senator Ningi who assisted us to resolve the issues. I am also grateful to the Chairman and Director General of the National Sports Commission Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olakpade who were magnanimous enough to look into the matters and resolved them quickly.” Sen. Imasuen said.
