Narrating the alleged threat , harassment to the journalists, through a telephone conversation, Mr Osahon Joe Aghimien is also a top management staff of one of the popular transport companies in Benin City , Iyare Motors Limited owned by his uncle
He added that by virtue of his position in the transport company, he was able to come in contact with various dignitaries across the country and beyond including the top government officials and politicians whom he said was introduced to him by his uncle in February 2022 , which then brought both his family and that of one of the top government official very close .

He said his wife and himself were in shock and could not understand why anyone would beat a child and inflict such a wound on him like that , disturb with the situation, he said he repeatedly asked his son what happened but it was not until the 10th day of November 2023 , after they returned from one of his son medical appointments that his son revealed to him that he was caught with the top government official’s son in his room kissing by his wife who then instructed her staff to beat him (Oghosa) up and accused him of coming to corrupt their son
“Oghosa’s revelation of his sexual orientation came to me and his mother as a surprise and a rude shock , but we were saddened by the fact that the top government official and politician wife took it upon herself to abuse our son in the manner she did ” he said

According to Mr Osahon Joe Aghimien , with the treatment they received from the said top government official prompted him to write a complaint against him to the office of the president and the Inspector General of Police , on the 20th day of November, reporting on how the said government official and politician ordered his agents to beat up his 15 years old son
He noted that ” unfortunately,on the 19th day of December 2023 , I received a call from my brother informing me that Police Officers were seeking to find and arrest me in Nigeria for allegedly scandalizing the top government official and members of his family. My brother told me that police officers demanded to know the whereabouts of Oghosa , accusing him of counselling and promoting homosexuality,an act which is illegal in Nigeria”
He pointed out that the brother also informed him that the said government official and his cohorts are determined to persecute him and he is therefore apprehensive for his son and family’s safety on return to Nigeria hence the appeal to the authority to come to his aid for the safety of his family, especially given the corrupt and abusive nature of state agents in the country, he does not believe they will receive adequate protection from the police particularly given the status of the said top government official.
