BENIN CITY- A 77 year old woman, one Mrs. Roseline Omorogbe, has been reportedly killed by an alleged “Yahoo Boy” in a road accident that occurred in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.
The accident, which occurred along 1st Ugbor Road (John Edebia Junction), Government Reserved Area (GRA) also led to one Mrs. Regina Jeffery, aged 30 years seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, Elvis Erhamwonyi, in an attempt to overtake a car in front of him with his Toyota Venza jeep, with Reg No. BDG 893 ES, allegedly hit a tricycle (keke) that was conveying passengers to their locations .
An eye witness who gave his name as Sylvester told journalists in Benin that the driver of the Venza was on top speed when attempted to overtake the car in his front only to crash into the coming tricycle.
Confirming the report, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the two persons who were seriously injured are undergoing treatment at the Benin Medical Care, along Adesuwa Road, G.R.A; Benin City.
He disclosed that the deceased woman has been deposited at Stella Obasanjo, Hospital Mortuary in Benin City for autopsy and preservation.
