There are plans to make Edo State House of Assembly run e-Parliament during plenary and other legislative business to ensure that there is a feedback mechanism for the legislature.
Speaker, Edo state House of Assembly Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun ksc disclosed this, when he received members of Edo State Civil Society Organizations (EDOSCO) in his office .
Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun said as the 7th Assembly continues its business the need to leave a lasting legacy on which the 8th would build on became imperative.
The Speaker explained that with the people oriented Bills and Resolutions the house has passed and will pass, there was the need to ensure the populace have a way of assessing the legislature and also giving feedback on the activities of the house.
Reacting to the issue of Law banning open Grazing in the State, the Speaker stated that the Law went through the right legislative process before being sent to the Governor for his assent, stressing that the assent by the executive came at the nick of time.
He took out time to explain the processes of Law Making to his visitors, promising to carry them along in future when the need arises as one of them.
Earlier, leader of the delegation and former TEC chairman leftist Omobude Agho in his remarks wondered why the assent of the law banning open Grazing was not made public by the legislature.
Also speaking the interim TEC chairman, leftist Austin Enabulele and leftist Osazee Edigin Called for more of people participation in the Law making process.
They appealed for more town hall meetings to interface with the people and their infrastructural needs before budgets are initiated and passed.
Meanwhile the Speaker, also received the organizers of Miss corporate Nigeria, who were in his office to introduce the contest and participants to the Speaker .
