It has come to the notice of the member representing Owan Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, who doubles as the Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Prof Julius Ihonvbere, OON, DSSRS, KSC, that some individuals for reasons best known to them have given themselves the disgraceful tasks of creating a non-existent discord, bad blood and permanent disagreement between himself, Distinguished Senator Adams Aliu Oshiomhole and leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owan land and Edo North in general.
This sustained, endless and festering attempts and evil machinations of such devious individuals at sowing seeds of discord between Prof Julius Ihonvbere and notable leaders of the APC is gradually taking on the toga of realism, from the realm of imaginations where it was most suited, and this has therefore occasioned the release of this statement in order to put the issues where they rightly belong.
Rt Hon Prof Julius Ihonvbere, unequivocally asserts that the highly trumpeted rift between him, Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole and other leaders of the APC is borne out of the wicked imaginations of individuals who have given themselves the irresponsible and inglorious task of creating mischief, enemity and discord where non exist.
What would be the basis of his quarel and disagreement with Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole and leaders of the APC in Owanland and Edo North in general, when same persons gave him undiluted political support and cover to win the last general elections overwhelmingly? Are they into any form of contestations or are they dragging anything that would warrant them to quarrel and engage in endless and mindless battles? Certainly NO.
Why would any right thinking individual think that Prof Julius Ihonvbere would contemplate ever discarding his leader, Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole at any point in time, when their paths have positively crossed over the years and after helping Senator Adams Oshiomhole to succeed in improving the lots of Edo indigenes when Oshiomhole was Governor and him, the Secretary to the State Government?
Just three days ago, (Monday, 23rd October to be specific), Prof Julius Ihonvbere received in audience in his office, two prominent leaders of the APC from Owan West who came on behalf of the entire leadership of the party in Owan West Local Government Area to present a congratulatory and an appreciation letter to him for all he has been doing for the people and the party and also passed a vote of implicit confidence in his representation.
Again, on two occasions in the last one week, Prof Julius Ihonvbere has held meetings with the apex leader of the APC in Owan East Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Lawani, AKA Abu Millionaire, here in Abuja, where they discussed issues of mutual interest and strategized on how to further solidify the base of the APC in Owanland and Edo North in general in order for the party to emerge victorious in the 2024 Edo Gubernatorial elections. Are these the same leaders those individuals wallowing in mischief claim Ihonvbere is quarrelling and don’t see eyeball to eyeball with?
Rt Hon Prof Julius Ihonvbere has just a single message for those, whose stock in trade is to invent and farment crisis, discords and disagreements where they don’t actually exists. The message is straight and tacit, ” on this particular attempt at creating imaginary bad belle, enemity, adversity, discord and disagreement between him, Distinguished Senator Adams Aliu Oshiomhole and other APC leaders in Owan and Edo North in general, they have failed and are advised to look elsewhere to ply their inglorious trade or find something else to do”.* “BECAUSE THIS ONE WILL NOT WORK”.
However, the Erudite Owan Rep, Rt Hon Prof Julius Ihonvbere is concluding arrangements to host Owan Constituents and APC party stalwarts to an elaborate reception and get-together party soon in Uzebba.
Ihonvbere who notes with immense thanks, the endless show of support, goodwill and prayers from Owan Constituents and members of the APC since his first emergence at the Reps in 2019 and even after his mandate was renewed by Owan Constituents this year, said the victory/celebrations party is occasioned by his overwhelming victory at the February 25, 2023 elections and his subsequent triumph at the election petitions tribunal where his mandate renewal by well-meaning Owan residents was again re-affirmed and given a final seal of approval.
