Benin City – Mr Peter Erhinmwinose, aka Eboh Amagba, representing the Amagba Community, appeared before the Edo State Private Properties Protection Committee sitting in Government House Benin City today to hear the verdict on the case between the Petitioner, Frank Omo Amadasun JP Vs Prince Wilfred Okoro, Sylvester Odigie, Sadoom and others and take word back to the Amagba people.
A judgment by Justice Akinbami of the High Court in Benin stated that an Edo-GIS Report has confirmed that the land in dispute is not situate in Amagba and therefore Amagba people do not have business selling the land.
Reading the judgment today, Hon. Justice Alero Edodo-Eruaga (Retd), Chairman, Edo State Private Properties Protection Committee, told Eboh Amagba to inform his people to get set to sign a Resolution which will be drafted by the Committee with which the parties will proceed to the Multidoor Court for a consent judgment.
Addressing the Petitioner, the Honourable Justice stated, “Now that the ownership of the area in dispute has been determined, if there is encroachment on the said area, then the Committee will expressly deal with it.”
The case has been adjourned till June 19th when parties will be expected to appear before the Committee to update the Committee on the settlement.
