The elders and the people of Iguoshodin Nebudin in Ovia North East local government areas of Edo State have appealed to His Royal Majesty ,Oba Ewuare II to look into the headship (Odionwere) tussle in the village before it escalate to something else .
The appeal is coming as a result of the popurted investigation alleged to have been carried out by a chief (names withheld ) that the oldest man by age in the village Pa Henry Osazuwa is not from Iguoshodin Nebudin village but Ugbine village which has further compounded the Odionwere tussle in the village
Mr Alelunuagbon Osagie an elder from the village narrating what transpired said the issue over who should be the Odionwere of the village have been on after the demise of the former Odionwere, late Pa Festus Osunde who died in June, 2020.
He noted that there have been crisis on who will be the Odionwere as one Pa Uwuigbe Omoragbon and his group would not allow the succession of Pa James Agbonlile to take place as the Odionwere in the village
He pointed out that the crisis on who becomes the Odionwere was taken to the Palace where committee was set up to resolve the crisis adding that the committee displayed manifest bias and one sidedness ,the people of the village informed the committee that the oldest person as stipulated was Pa Henry Osawaru and not Pa Uwuigbe Omoragbon.
Mr Osagie further said with the development that with the investigation said to have been carried out by one of the chiefs that Pa Henry Osawaru was from Ugbine and not Iguoshodin Nebudin the people had no choice than to go to Ugbine themselves where it was discovered first that no one came from the Palace as claimed by the said chief and that they do not know any person of such name by Pa Henry Osawaru.
He thanked the Oba for his fatherly disposition and appealed that the issues of the headship tussle should be look into and resolved for the growth and development of Iguoshodin Nebudin.
