BENIN CITY- The Forum of the immediate past Local Government Council Chairmen, known as the G-8, has joined millions of Edolites to congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Sen Monday Okpebholo and his Deputy Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, on their successful inauguration on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 in a colourful ceremony held at the magnificent Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Forum’s spokesman, Hon Frank Ilaboya, the eight Chairmen who decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in April, 2024, said the the Sen Okpeblolo led Edo State Government will deliver the much need dividends of democracy to the great people of Edo State.
“We join millions of other well meaning Edolites to congratulate His Excellency, Sen Monday Okpebholo and his Deputy, Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, on their successful inauguration.
“We have no doubt in our minds that the Okpebholo led administration will deliver the much craved-for dividends of democracy to the generality of the people of Edo State.
“We all saw the signs during the electioneering period the stuff His Excellency is made of, a man of few words but action oriented.
“True to type , the action Governor has already hit the ground running with key appointments which are sure signs that he is here to work,” the release further stated
“A new Edo has risen and we wish the new Governor and his team all the best as we look forward to better and prosperous days ahead.”
The G-8 Forum, formed following the grand defection of the eight former Council Chairmen, comprises of the immediate past Chairmen of Etsako Central, Comrade John Osi Akhigbe, Hon Frank Ilaboya, Owan West, Hon Napoleon Agbama, Uhunmwonde Local Govt Area, and Hon Andrew Osigwe, Owan East Local Government Area.
Others are Austine Okoibhole, Esan North East Local Government Area, Hon Josie Ogedegbe, Igueben Local Government Area, Mrs Ruth Okunwe of Esan West Local Government Area and Hon Scott Ogbemudia of Ovia North East Local Government Area.
The group was formed in April when the former Chairmen decamped to join forces with the newly elected Governor ahead of the September 21st Gubernatorial election in the State.
