BENIN CITY -The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council in collaboration with JCI Edo Bronze will on February 8 and 9, 2024 organise a 2-day free healthcare service for members of the union.
According to a press statement signed by the State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Andy Egbon , the free healthcare services will feature screening for hypertension, diabetes, blood pressure, eye screening and distribution of free eye glasses, Hepatitis B Test, HIV Test, Blood Sugar Test, Cervical Cancer Screening and BMI Check.
He added that officials of the JCI Edo Bronze and other collaborative agencies will deploy medical personnel, with specialisation in various aspects of medicine for the exercise.
The venue for the healthcare service is the New Conference Hall of NUJ Press Centre, No.1 Sir Gabriel Igbinedion Way, GRA, Benin City , time is 9.00am each day.
To make the exercise seamless, according to Comrade Egbon, the leadership of NUJ has scheduled the days for every chapel to appear for the exercise.
“DAY ONE: THURSDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2024: State Information, Federal Information, ITV/Radio, Vibes FM, Correspondents, Merit, Speed fm, while DAY TWO, FRIDAY FEBRUARY 9, 2024: Edo Broadcasting Service, The Nigerian OBSERVER, NTA, Reliance, Bronze FM, Federated, AIT/Ray Power, Super FM, Tenants and others,” he said.
The leadership of the Union calls on Chapel leaders to prepare their members for the free medical check-up in line with the time table released above.
