As the curtains draw on an illustrious career spanning 35 years, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Saturday (30/12/23), received Prayers and Royal Blessings from the Ovie of Otuo, HRH, Julius Segun Ojeabuo, Otuo Council of Chiefs and Elders for a glorious, impactful and untainted Federal Civil Service career as well, as for his bid for the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2024 Edo Guber polls.
In line with the popular cliche, “Charity Begins from Home”, Umakhihe, in company of friends, associates and supporters stormed the Ovie of Otuo’s Palace to formally notify the highly revered Monarch of his impending retirement from the Federal Civil Service and his foray into the political terrain where he recently bowed to pressure from different groups and individuals and accepted to run for the 2023 Edo governorship elections.
The visibly elated Monarch, Palace Chiefs and community elders embarked on a frenzy of prayers for Dr Umakhihe, an illustrious and proud Otuo Union son who has had a very remarkable and distinctive career in the Federal Civil Service where he is leaving his footprint in the sands of time haven impacted positively on Otuo community and several others across Edo State.
The Otuo Union, the community’s main flagship body, whose President and other key officials were on hand at the Ovie’s Palace used the opportunity of Umakhihe’s visit to present an investiture award into the Otuo Community Hall of Fame on Dr Ernest Umakhihe in recognition of his contribution to the overall development of the community.
The investiture plaque and award were personally bestowed on the recipient by the Ovie of Otuo, HRH Julius Segun Ojeabuo.
