… as the Governor promised to give Coaster Bus to union
BENIN CITY- The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has expressed appreciation to the state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for his support to the union over the years.
Comrade Alenkhe made the commendation when the governor paid a visit to Nuj secretariat to hang out with journalists in the state
Apart from hanging out with journalists,the governor also used the occasion to solicit for the continuous support to the activities of the state government as well as to strengthened the bond between the state government and journalists in the state
He commended the union’s leadership for its giant strides, including the sanity that the present executive brought into journalism practice in the state.
The governor described as uncommon transformation the infrastructural development that the present executives of the Nuj had brought to the secretariat for the past months
According to the Governor, the vision of the Comrade Festus Alenkhe’s led state NUJ in the area of physical development is in line with the Make Edo Great Again (MEGA) agenda of the present Edo state government.
He assured the journalists that his administration would continue to identify with the union at all times.
During the visit, the Governor announced the provision of a Coaster Bus to the union and the installation of internet facility to the Press Centre, using the state government installed fibre.
Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a compendium of qualified members of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists and a guided tour of the NUJ Press Centre where the Governor freely interacted with guests of the union and visitors alike.
