BENIN CITY- The Edo state Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has condemned the kidnapping of one of its members Dr Tony Aziegbevbi the Edo PDP chairman.
In a release signed by the state chairman Dr Greg Igbinomwanhia and the state Secretary Mr Osiriame Edeipo, the kidnapping of the PDP state chairman came to Edo IPAC as a shocking and heartbreaking news.
IPAC said the act is a wicked and inhuman one that must be protested by all well- meaning individuals and group in Edo state.
The body which is made up of the chairmen of the 19 political parties in Edo state, called on the governor who is the chief security officer of the state and heads of the statutory security agencies within and outside the state to please swing into action immediately and ensure that Dr Aziegbevbi is rescued unhurt as soon as possible.
IPAC also use the opportunity to appeal that as the September 2024 governorship in the state draws near, politicians should eschew violence and action that could put the citizens of the state in fear.
IPAC called on the government and security agencies to ensure tha wholesome security of lives and property pre, during and post the governorship election.
