….Urges Edo people to vote em mass for the candidate of Labour Party

BENIN CITY- Labour Party shuts down Benin City as the presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi and the governorship candidate for the forthcoming election Barr Olumide Osaigbove Akpata embarked on a road show round major roads in the state capital even as he urged the people to vote en mass for the party come September 21 ,2024
Mr Peter Obi, Barr Olumide Akpata ,labour Party state executive s , party members , market women , youths all came out in their numbers to partake in the road show that took them round major streets in Benin City including the popular Evbareke spare parts market which later terminated at the Palace of the Oba of Benin
Speaking at the Palace the governorship candidate of the labour Party, Barr Olumide Osaigbove Akpata informed the Oba that he was at the Palace with the national leadership of the party to seek for the Oba’s blessing and to intimate him that he is commencing his political campaign
He pointed out it will be wrong of him to commence campaigns without notifying the Oba who is a father to all .
Bar Akpata noted that the party is strong and vibrant and will be able to give the dividend of democracy to the good people of Edo State which is the main focus as well as to heal the pains of the people of the state
In his brief remarks the presidential candidate of the party in last general election and leader of the party Mr Peter Obi thanked the Oba for his fatherly role and noted that the country can only be better and great again if there is free, fair and credible elections and make the people have confidence in those at the helm of affairs.
He said he believes that with the prayers of the Oba ,the party’s candidate will come out victorious in the election slated for September 21 , 2024.
Responding, Oba Ewuare II CFR,Oba of Benin thanked them for the visit and wished them well as they embarked on their political campaign across the state .
Amongst the leadership of the party that accompanied Bar Akpata to the palace includes, Sen Neda Imasuen, Sen Victor Umen , Chief Kelvin Chukwu and Dr Toye Nwoye amongst others
The leadership of the party later inaugurated the campaign office along boundary road , Benin City
