BENIN CITY -The Chairman ,All Progressive Congress ,Col . David Imuse rtd has again called on Edo State Governor,Mr Godwin Obaseki to explain to Edo people ,the loans running into billions of naira used to mortgage the future of the state from the World Bank , European Union and other sources ,what it was used for
Col Imuse made the call while addressing the press on the present situations of Edo State under the leadership of Mr Godwin Obaseki
He said recently the Edo State Governor Mr Godwin Obaseki elevated falsehood to one of his government policies when the party (APC) asked for the details of how his government expended the over N17billion the state received as arrears of the 13% derivation fund ,and the governor is short of words to explain to the good people of the state.
The Chairman further added that recently a large section of the popular Lagos street market in Benin City was gutted by fire , rather than acting like a responsible government but went out for a scapegoat to blame for it’s inadequacies, pointing out that the blame for the many fire incidents across the markets since Mr Obaseki became governor is actually lying on the doorsteps of the government.
“In all these markets,Mr Obaseki also set up panels of inquiry to unravel the cause of the fires with deadlines for submission of the reports. He even promised to rebuild the burnt sections of the markets,employ more fire fighters and buy more fire trucks for the ailing state fire service ,none of the panels saw the light of the day , instead the governor donated a very large section of the Ekiosa market to his friends and cronies to build and operate a JARA supermarket “,he said
“A shortsighted governor who replace the children’s hospital with a supermarket and demolished the state ministry of agriculture and natural resources complex and headquarters of the Edo library ,where children of the masses access free books ,for another supermarket,will do worse.This is why we Condenms Mr Obaseki’s insatiable appetite for supermarket because it is against the interest of Edo people ”
He use occasion to call on all eligible voters in Edo State who have not collected their PVCs to create time to do so and also cautioned the people against selling of PVCs to PDP agent who are all over the place but advised them to collect and save their PVCs so that they can vote for the APC in 2023 ,pointing out that the time is up for Mr Obaseki’s reign of fire and pains , Edo must move forward.
