Few hours away from the Governorship election primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State, Oshiomhole has again provoked the anger of the Party leadership and faithful for the endorsement of one of the 12 aspirants; Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
On Friday, in a video trending on the social media space, Oshiomhole was seen addressing a handful of his followers at his country home, Iyamho on the direction to go.
He alleged the President in a meeting with the National leadership of the APC gave a clear direction on who should be nominated as the flag bearer of the Party for the Governorship election in September.
He alleged Hon. Idahosa, House of representative member for the Ovia federal constituency is the choice.
Oshiomhole therefore directed that his followers at the primary should nominate him.
The Party leadership, and faithful however found this not only illegal but running contrary to the rules of the game and position adopted.
Flowing from this, Oshiomhole at the Party secretariat in Benin got the dress down least expected from those who hitherto hold him in high esteem.
Amidst heavy booing from the crowd present, he was also told to his face that his action was unbecoming of a leader at his level and that he had either withdrawn his undemocratic act now or be prepared to face the unpleasant consequence as reward.
He only managed to escape being manhandled by the mass of the people, as they considered him working to destroy the APC once again especially in Edo.
Recalled, Oshiomhole for his alleged numerous undemocratic acts was removed from the office of the APC Chairman after one Oshawo; his ward Chairman endorsed his removal.
His reign as Chairman of the APC almost tore to pieces the ruling Party before his removal.
