…..Urges Govt To Prioritize Sports
BENIN CITY- A South African based Edo State born indigene ,Coach Nixin Osayaimen has called on youths to stay away from drugs , cultism , thuggery and other social vices but rather channel their energy to ventures that will make them to be useful to themselves and the society
Even as he called on the government at all levels to take the game as a matter of priority so as to engage the youths and take their minds from things that will that will be detrimental to the society
Coach Nixin gave the advice while speaking to journalists after the novelty football game organized in honour of his late mother Mrs Dorcas Aiguobagbon Osayaimen at the Uwa primary school sport field in Benin City
He said with her encouragement at the time he was venturing into the game of football made him to organize the novelty football game in memory of his beloved mother
Coach Nixin Osayaimen further added that apart from the novelty football game it is a delight to once again play with old veterans who has contributed immensely to the growth of football not only in the state but the country as a whole
He noted also that it is also an avenue to exercise which is very important to our health and to keep fit always , have fun and everyone is happy doing it
The Johannesburg based Coach Nixin also used the occasion to call on the youths especially those who want building their careers in football to take it seriously through continuous training till they can get a team that can sign them on and develop their game and also advice football clubs ,coaches and their management to also look for talented players who are good in the game and disregard the attitude of my person must play for a team whether he/ she is good or not which will not help the game in the country
The teams that participated in the novelty football game were the Uwa United , Edo All Stars ,Hill Top United and Veterans in the game that have played for the state and the country at international competitions
