BENIN CITY -The founder of Anamero Idofe Foundation, Hon. Anamero Dekeri has said final modalities have been put in place for the equitable sharing of the10,000 West Africa Examination Certificate (WAEC) forms he earlier proposed to pay for all indigenes of Edo State who are billed to sit for the exams come next year.
Hon. Anamero Dekeri, member representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, disclosed this at a press briefing recently in Benin City
According to him, this is a reflection of my commitment to providing opportunities for every child to thrive and actualize their individual careers as education remains the pivot for the development and prosperity of any society and nation.
He noted that financial constraints often times had hindered and truncated the dreams of many deserving students from pursuing and attaining quality education to an acceptable level.
The APC governorship aspirant said, in addressing this issue ‘head-on, we have devised a plan to bridge the gap and alleviate the burden placed on economically disadvantaged families.
“Education should be a fundamental right accessible by every child, regardless of their socio-economic background. It is my firm belief that this initiative will empower the indigent students of Edo State, enabling them to compete on a level playing field and unlock their full potentials,” he said.
Going further, the founder of Anamero Idofe Foundation, Hon. Anamero Dekeri encouraged all stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and philanthropic individuals, to join hands with him in making this vision a reality by pooling resources together and leveraging our collective strengths to make a lasting impact, breaking the shackles of poverty and transforming lives through education.
“This distribution of free enrollment for Senior school certificate exams to students in public schools will not only alleviate the financial burden facing families but will also foster a strong and educated workforce, driving economic growth and ensuring a brighter future for Edo State.”
Hon. Dekeri added that the allocation of the forms to various sectors irrespective of political, religious or tribal included Christian Association Of Nigerian, Orphanage home, Muslim Faithful, Physically Challenged Persons, Nigeria Union Of Journalist, Civil societies Organisation, Internally Displaced Person (IDP), Traditional rulers, Igbo Association, Yuruba Association, Hausa Community, Market Women Association, Traders Association, Road Transport Workers Union, South South State, Security Groups amongst others.
The Edo 2024 governorship aspirant therefore reiterate his commitment to advocating for the welfare and development of the state.
