BENIN CITY-The Chairman, All Progressives Congress Edo State, Emperor Jarret Tenebe has again raised alarm to the people of Edo State of an alleged move by Governor Obaseki with the backing of the state executive council have started the process to transfer ownership of Radisson Hotel to a private company, just as he did to Edo State Modular Refinery
Recalled that the state chairman also raised alarm last week on the high level corruption and mismanagement of Edo State resources by Governor Obaseki and of how the contract for construction of a poorly conceived Radisson Hotel ballooned from N19.4bn to over N23bn in 12 months as well as who owns Radisson Hotel
The Chairman raised the alarm once again in a press briefing to intimate journalists on the latest developments at the party Secretariat in Benin City and called on the people and the EFCC to take cognizance of the yet another financial round tripping crime that the governor Obaseki has set in motion
The Chairman also use the occasion to draw the attention of the people on how three years ago Gov Obaseki brought down the only state government library to construct shoprite shopping mall adding that the initial contract sum was put at N5.4bn, the contract has since escalated to N12bn as at the time the party checked, it was initially awarded to A&K construction and later subdivided to Shapooji Palloji under mysterious circumstances
Emperor Jarret also informed that the contract for the shopping mall has been reviewed over six times ,sometimes twice in a month , nothing that it has been tuned to a conduit to siphon government resources into private hands that it is now the cesspool of corruption for high officers in the present administration
The Chairman then used the occasion to call on Efcc to invite some the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie , Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Adaze Aguele-kalu , Mr Bernard Aigbe , PS Ministry of Budget and Planing, Engr. Austin Osakue of Edo State Public Building and Maintenance, Mr Osaigbove Iyoha, Chief of Staff to the governor and Accountant General of Edo State to recover all the state resources that are in their custody.
However in attempt to get the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon Chris Enekhare for respond on the allegations, he promised to respond on the issue on a later day
