Omonigho Okoro, Doris Ken-Otokiti Emerge as First Vice and Second Vice District Governor Respectively

The 17th Multiple District Convention of the Lions International may have come to an end, but the euphoria would linger on.
The Convention, which was held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital saw Lions from all over Nigeria, and some neighbouring African countries like Ghana, converged on Ibadan where accounts of stewardship were rendered at plenaries while service to humanity was rewarded in various aspects of humanitarian service.
New leadership for the 2024/25 Lions Year were elected as either District Governors or 1st and Second Vice District Governors for the six Districts, namely 404-A2, A3 and A4 and 404-B2, B3 and B4 respectively.
Among District Governors elected for the new Lions Year that will officially kick off on July 1 was Lion Engr Prince Monday Osadebamwen Okoro PMJF, NLCF, who was elected as District Governor and would officially take over the mantle of leadership from Lion Dr Kofoworola Jegede PMJF NLCF as District Governor, D404-A4.
Also elected for the District were Lion Robinson Omonigho Okoro MJF NLCF and Lion Doris Ken-Otokiti MJF NLCF as First and Second Vice District Governor respectively.
Described by most Lions as “a true Lion and an embodiment of humility, integrity and communal friendship.” Lion Prince Monday Osadebamwen Okoro joined Lions International in 2004 and is recognized as having displayed true love for service to humanity in all his endeavors.
Lion Okoro’s academic profile traverses Niger College, Benin City, Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, City Business School, Benin City, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State.
He holds an OND, Accountancy, Diploma in Computer Studies, B.Sc in Business Administration and HND in Mechanical Engineering with an ongoing Master’s programme in Business Administration.
His working career also spans the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue, National Electricity Power Authority where he worked as Accounts Officer three and two respectively, worked at Oredo Local Government Council as Special Adviser, Political and Administration to the Executive Chairman, Oredo Local Government Council Transport Service Limited as Managing Director and Chief Executive, Joe-Oko Investment Limited as Executive Chairman and Consultant to the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, Abuja/Edo State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, member, Edo State Tourism Board, Executive Chairman, Inside-out Communication Limited and Managing Director/Chief Executive, Modano Tractors and Agricultural Implements.
As a member of the Lions International, he served as Secretary, Treasurer, President, Membership Director and Chairperson, Environmental Service, and Chairperson, Zone 5A.
He also served as Region 6 Chairman for Edo/Warri, Chairperson, Worldwide Induction, and Chairperson, Cultural and Community Activities as well as Chairperson, Club Supplies.
He has attended several trainings and international leadership workshops, including in Hong Kong, Pakistani, Bangalore in India, Boston, and a host of other countries.
He has also attended conventions, conferences and trainings, including the Advanced Lions Leadership Institute (ALLI) and a host of others.
In service delivery as a Lion, Lion Okoro has also won several merit awards, including 100% Past President International Award, 100% Performing Zone Chairman in the District, Best Region Chairman of the District and the Melvin Jones Fellow(MJF), PMJF and Chevron Monarch International Awards, among several accolades and honours.
Lion Prince Osadebamwen Okoro has also gained a stint as an astute politician,
working with several prominent figures in the corridors of power and holding various elective and appointive offices in political parties and in Government.
He is a member of several social and charitable organizations and has won several awards of recognition and honour.
The D404-A4 District Governor-Elect has chosen “Love and Unity in Service” as theme of his one year stewardship for the 2024/25 Lions Year and has already hit the ground running by appointing leaders across board to work with him in various Committees.
The DG-elect is married with children.
